Human GDNF (Glial-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) is a 30.1kD protein that specifically promotes dopamine uptake and survival of midbrain neurons. GDNF is a disulphide-linked homodimer, formed by two identical 134aa subunits.

Biological ActivityThe ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent dopamine uptake by rat ventral mesencephalic cultures was found to be in the range of 4-8ng/ml.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
