| Most mammalian cells transport glucose through a family of membrane proteins known as glucose transporters. Molecular cloning of these glucose transporters has identified a family of closely related genes that encodes at least 7 proteins (Glut-1 to Glut-7, MW. 40-60kD) and Sodium glucose co-transporter-1 (SGLT-1, 662 amino acids; ~75kD). Individual member of this family have identical predicted secondary structures with 12 transmembrane domains. Both N and c-termini are predicted to be cytoplasmic. Most differences in sequence homology exist within the four hydrophilic domains that may play a role in tissue-specific targeting. | | | Catalog # | G3901-05 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml (ECL). | | ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. Control peptide can be used to coat plates at 1ug/ml and detected with antibodies. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Control Peptide | G3901 | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4 and 0.1% sodium azide, 40% glycerol. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | A 16-AA peptide sequence near the cytoplasmic, C-terminus of Human Glut-13, coupled to KLH. | | Specificity | Recognizes human GLUT13 (HMIT). | | Species Sequence Homology | Rat: 100%. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
