| Glutathione S-transferase is a 26kD protein from Schistosoma japonicum. GST is a widely used protein fusion partner. It provides both an easily detectable Tag. Utilizing a simple purification process, there is little effect on the biological function of the protein of interest. Numerous vectors containing GST-Tag have been developed for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems over the past decade. | | | Catalog # | G8135 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:1000 | | Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Concentration | Not determined. | | Form | Supplied as liquid in 10mM HEPES, pH 7.5, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.1mg/ml BSA, 50% glycerol. No preservative added. | | Purity | Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | GST fusion protein. Apparent Molecular Weight: The apparent molecular weight is related to the fusion protein. | | Specificity | Detects overexpressed GST proteins and fusion proteins. Recognizes only glutathione S-transferase. Species Crossreactivity: Expected to crossreact with proteins fused to GST from all species. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
