Glutathione S-transferase is a 26kD protein from Schistosoma japonicum. GST is a widely used protein fusion partner. It provides both an easily detectable Tag. Utilizing a simple purification process, there is little effect on the biological function of the protein of interest. Numerous vectors containing GST-Tag have been developed for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems over the past decade.

Recommended Dilution	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity	Recognizes the glutathione S-transferase moiety of GST fusion proteins as expressed in E. coli by the pGEX vectors and in yeast by the pYEXTM vectors. Crossreactivity with E. coli protein has not been detected.
