| Glycophorin A (GPA) is a 36kD sialoglycoprotein that is the most predominant sialoglycoprotein of the erythroid lineage. GPA is the major contributor to the net negative surface charge of the mature red blood cell (RBC) membrane thereby minimizing cell to cell interactions in circulation. The monoclonal antibody CMRF14 binds to glutaraldehyde fixed or neuraminidase treated erythrocytes but not to papain, trypsin or pronase treated erythrocytes. | | | Catalog # | G8177-11A | | Applications | Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG2b | | Clone No | 5K247 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified | | Specificity | Recognizes human Glycophorin A. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
