Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Affinity Purified E B IH IF
The Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria is used as a fluorescent indicator for monitoring gene expression in a variety of cellular systems, including living organisms and fixed tissues. Unlike other bioluminescent reporters, GFP fluoresces in the absence of substrates, cofactors or other intrinsic or extrinsic proteins. Purified GFP is a 27kD monomer consisting of 238 amino acids. It emits green light (emission maximum at 509nm) when excited with blue or UV light.
Catalog #G8965-15
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluroescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 1:10,000 (sandwich or capture).
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000
Immunohistochemistry: 1:1000-1:3000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Concentration~1mg/ml
FormSupplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 10mg/ml BSA (IgG and Protease free), 0.01% sodium azide, before the addition of glycerol to 40%. Labeled with Biotinamidocaproate N-Hydroxysuccinimide Ester (BAC). Biotin/Protein Ratio: 10-20 BAC molecules per mouse IgG molecule.
PurityPurified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
ImmunogenGST-Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) fusion protein corresponding to the full length amino acid sequence (246aa) derived from the jelly sh Aequorea victoria.
SpecificityRecognizes wild type and recombinant forms of Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP). Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-biotin and anti-mouse serum. Does not recognize enhanced forms of GFP.
