Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Goat Affinity Purified E B IH IF
The Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria is used as a fluorescent indicator for monitoring gene expression in a variety of cellular systems, including living organisms and fixed tissues. Unlike other bioluminescent reporters, GFP fluoresces in the absence of substrates, cofactors, or other intrinsic or extrinsic proteins. Purified GFP is a 27kD monomer consisting of 238 amino acids and emits green light (emission maximum at 509nm) when excited with blue or UV light.
Catalog #G8966-05
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immuno uorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000 Sandwich or capture. Recognizes wild type, recombinant and enhanced forms of GFP.
Immunohistochemistry: 1:500-1:2000
Immuno uorescence: Assayed by immuno uorescence microscopy on prokaryotic (E.coli) and eukaryotic (CHO cells) expression systems and was shown to detect GFP containing inserts. Signi cant ampli cation of signal was detected using uorochrome conjugated anti-GFP relative to the uorescence of GFP alone.
Western Blot: 1:2000-1:5000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.

FormSupplied in PBS, pH 7.2, 10mg/ml BSA (IgG and protease free), 0.01% gentamicin sulfate. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP).
PurityPurified by immunoaf nity chromatography.
ImmunogenGST-Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) fusion protein corresponding to the full length amino acid sequence (246aa) derived from the jelly sh Aequorea victoria.
SpecificityRecognizes wild type, recombinant and enhanced GFP. Assay by IEP resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-goat serum, anti-peroxidase and puri ed and partially puri ed Green Fluorescent Protein (Aequorea victoria) serum. No reaction was observed against human, mouse or rat serum proteins.
