Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Goat Affinity Purified E B IP IF
The Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria is used as a fluorescent indicator for monitoring gene expression in a variety of cellular systems, including living organisms and fixed tissues. Unlike other bioluminescent reporters, GFP fluoresces in the absence of substrates, cofactors, or other intrinsic or extrinsic proteins. Purified GFP is a 27kD monomer consisting of 238 amino acids and emits green light (emission maximum at 509nm) when excited with blue or UV light.
Catalog #G8966-05
ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA, Immunoblot, Immuno uorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000 Sandwich or capture. Recognizes wild type, recombinant and enhanced forms of GFP.
Immunohistochemistry: 1:500-1:3000
Immuno uorescence: Fluorochrome conjugated anti-GFP was assayed by immuno uorescence microscopy on prokaryotic
(E.coli) and eukaryotic (CHO cells) expression systems and was shown to detect GFP containing inserts. Signi cant ampli cation of signal was detected using uorochrome conjugated anti-GFP relative to the uorescence of GFP alone.
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 Detects a 42kD band.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
