Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Goat Affinity Purified
Huntingtin is the protein product of the gene for Huntington’s disease (HD). HD is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by an expansion of polyglutamine repeats in the huntingtin gene. The HAP1 molecule was reported to bind to the amino terminal region of huntingtin, and enhanced binding correlated with expanded polyglutamine repeats, suggesting a role for HAP1 in the pathogenesis of HD. At least three HAP1 isoforms have been identified but others may exist.
