| HSF1 is the major heat shock transcriptional factor that binds heat shock element (HSE) in the promoter of heat shock proteins (Hsps) and controls rapid Hsp induction in cells subjected to various environmental stresses. HSF1 gene belongs to a family of vertebrate HSF transactivators, and encodes the orthologous protein found across the eukaryotic phyla. HSF1 regulates HSP synthesis and activates hsp gene transcription. Under normal conditions, cellular HSF1 exists in a transcriptionally repressed state. Induction of transcriptional activity by heat shock then results in the conversion of HSF1 from inactive monomer to a DNA-binding trimer. human HSF1 gene is localized on chromosome 8q24.3. | | | Catalog # | H1830-44L | | Applications | Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry.
