The evolution of our understanding of pluripotent and adult stem cell biology requires specific research tools to permit the characterization, isolation, and expansion of stem cells. HESCA-1 is the first in a series of novel stem cell antibodies produced to provide scientists with those needed tools. HESCA-1 recognizes a newly discovered 200kD cell surface protein that has been shown to be expressed in pluripotent human embryonic stem cell (hESC) populations.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry and Flow cytometry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended DilutionsOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

SpecificityRecognizes H1, BG-01, BG01v, and BF02 human embryonic stem (hES) cell lines. Unreactive for differentiated stem cells in teratomas and common feeder lines such as MEF, D-551, and Hs27. Reactivity with other hES lines has not yet determined.
