| Histone H2AX is a 14kD ubiquitous member of the H2A histone family. It contains an evolutionary conserved SQ motif at the C-terminus in eukaryotes. The response of eukaryotic cells to double-strand breaks in genomic DNA includes the sequestration of many factors into nuclear foci. H2AX becomes extensively phosphorylated within 1-3 minutes of DNA damage and forms foci at break sites. | | | Catalog # | H5110-03P | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Tris-citrate/phosphate [pH 7-8] containing 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Immunogen was a synthetic peptide, which represented a portion of the C-terminus of human histone H2AX (LocusLink ID 3014). | | Specificity | This antibody is specific to human H2AX. Species Crossreactivity: can be used to detect H2AX in human and mouse. Other species have not been tested. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
