| Histone 2B is the core component of nucleosome. It is involved in nucleosome wrapping and the compaction of DNA into chromatin, limiting DNA accessibility. Histones thereby play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication, and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex system of nucleosome remodelling and post-translational modification of histones, also called histone code. |

| Catalog # | H5110-09FN |
| Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. |
| Recommended Dilution | Western Blot: 1:1000-1:10,000. Detected phospho-Histone H2B in HL-60 cells treated with 20ug/ml VP16 for 18 hours. A 1:250-1:2000 dilution also detected phospho-Histone H2B acid extracted proteins from colcemid-arrested HeLa cells. |
| Immunocytochemistry: 1:5000 selectively immunostained pycnotic apoptotic HL-60 cells and TUNEL positive HeLa cells. |
| Immunohistochemistry: 1:5000 immunostained deparaffinated Xenopus tail sections. |
| Note: Use of this antibody at dilutions which are too low will result in non-specific detection of Histone H2B and other unknown proteins in immunoblots of acid extracts from untreated cells. |
| Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. |
| Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
