| Histones are relatively small proteins that contain a high proportion of positively charged amino acids, e.g., arginine and lysine. This positive charge allows histones to bind tightly to the negatively charged DNA. There are five basic types of histone molecules called H1, H2A, H2B, H3, and H4. Histones are abundantly present in virtually all eukaryotic cells. | | | Catalog # | H5110-09P | | Applications | Suitable for the detection of Histone H2B by Western blot. Human peripheral blood cell lysate or Jurkat cell lysate can be used as positive control. An approximately 15kD band is detected. Western blot analysis of Histone H2B in human PBMC cell lysate with antibody. | | Recommended Dilution | Western blot: 2ug/ml | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide containing amino acid residues 111-125 of human Histone H2B. | | Specificity | Recognizes human Histone H2B (CT) | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
