Recommended DilutionImmunoblot Analysis: 1:40,000-1:80,000 dilution of this lot detected acetylated Histone H2B in sodium butyrate treated, acid extracted proteins from HeLa cells. Unacetylated recombinant Histone H2B was not detected.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

ImmunogenKLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide (S[AcK]SAPAPK[AcK]GS[AcK]KAIT[AcK]AQ) in which AcK corresponds to acetyl-lysine at residues 5, 12, 15 and 20 of human Histone H2B. The immunizing sequence has 24 out of 26 identical amino acids in mouse, rat and bovine.
SpecificityRecognizes acetylated Histone H2B, Mr ~15kD. Does not recognize acetylated Histone H2A or unacetylated recombinant Histone H2B protein. Species Crossreactivity: Human. Predicted to crossreact with mouse, rat and bovine based on sequence homology.
