| Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. This structure consists of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a nucleosome, an octamer composed of pairs of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). The chromatin fiber is further compacted through the interaction of a linker histone, H1, with the DNA between the nucleosomes to form higher order chromatin structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H3 family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails; instead, they contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6p22-p21.3. | | | Catalog # | H5110-14M1 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry: 1:100 | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | Colcemid treated HeLa acid extracts | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.25ug/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.09% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding Ser10 of human histone cluster 1, H3B (MAPS). | | Specificity | Recognizes human histone H3 phosphorylated at Ser10. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
