Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Rabbit Serum E
Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Histone H3 is of length 135aa and is essential for the formation of the highly ordered chromatin structure that has been maintained throughout evolution. H3 histone is from the central building block of the nucleosomal core. It is wrapped around a nucleosome composed of pairs of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). Histone modifications and variants have key roles in the activation and silencing of genes. Phosphorylation of histone H3 at serine 10 and serine 28 is involved in transcriptional activation of genes responding to stress or mitogen-stimulated signaling pathways. Histones contribute to virtually all chromosomal processes, such as gene regulation, chromosome condensation, recombination, and replication.
