| IKB kinase beta (IKKB) is also known as IKBKB and IKK2. The classical active IKK complex, composed of IKKA, IKKB, and two forms of processed IKKG, phosphorylates and inactivates IKB, resulting in the release and nuclear translocation of active NFKB. Like IKKA, IKKB contains kinase aa15-300, leucine zipper aa458-479, and helix-loop-helix aa605-644 domains. NFKB-inducing kinase (NIK) phosphorylates and activates IKKA/IKKB heterodimers.
