Imidazole can be used for the elution of histidine containing proteins from divalent cation resins.

Imidazole can be used to prepare buffers in the pH range of 6.2-7.8 at 25°C. It is also a chelator for the binding of various divalent cations.

Storage and StabilityPowder may be stored at 4°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C after receipt. Reconstitute with ddH2O. Aliquot and store at 4°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at 4°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Protect from light.
