Imidazole can be used to prepare buffers in the pH range of 6.2-7.8 at 25°C. It is also a chelator for the binding of various divalent cations.

For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Protect from light.
