| Immunoglobulin Superfamily, member 4C (IGSF4C), also known as Nectin-like protein 4 (Necl-4), SynCAM4, or TSLL-2, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein adhesion molecule. Expression at 55kD in epithelia of kidney, bladder and prostate, 52kD in brain, and 50 or 48kD in the testes may be due to variable glycosylation. IGSF4C participates in Ca2+-independent, mainly homophilic cell-cell adhesion activity and is a proposed tumor suppressor. Human IGSF4C contains a 306aa extracellular region with one V-type and two C2-type Ig-like domains. Human IGSF4C shares 98-99% amino acid identity with mouse, rat, dog and bovine IGSF4C. |
