| Influenza A and B are the two types of influenza viruses that cause epidemic human disease. Influenza type C infections cause a mild respiratory illness and are not thought to cause epidemics. | | | Influenza A viruses are further categorized into subtypes on the basis of two surface antigens: hemagglutinin (H) and neuraminidase (N). Strains are also described by geographic origin, strain number and year of isolation. | | | Catalog # | I7650-83F | | This protein forms a continuous shell on the inner side of the lipid bilayer. Maintains the structural integrity of the virus particle through hydrophobic interactions. Also mediates the encapsidation of RNA nucleoprotein cores into the membrane envelope. | | Cellular Localization | Cell Membrane | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded sections). Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Concentration | ~4mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | Influenza A virus. Strain: USSR (H1N1). | | Specificity | Specific to H1N1 by IHA. Does not react Influenza B, RSV, Parainfluenza 1-3 or Adenovirus. Does not react with HEp-2 cells. Species Crossreactivity: Reacts with Influenza A Virus. May react with chicken cellular proteins. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
