| Insulin-Like Growth Factor I, Recombinant, Murine (IGF1) is a well-characterized basic peptide believed to be secreted by the liver and to circulate in the blood. It has growth-regulating, insulin-like, and mitogenic activities. This growth factor has a major, but not absolute, dependence on Somatotropin. It is believed to be mainly active in adults in contrast to Insulin like Growth Factor 2, which is a major fetal growth factor. | | | Catalog # | I7661-10J | | Biological Activity | IGF-I is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependent proliferation of murine BALBC 3T3 cells (measured by 3H-thymidine uptake) is less then 1.0ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10U/mg. | | AA Sequence | GPETLCGAEL VDALQFVCGP RGFYFNKPTG YGSSIRRAPQ TGIVDECCFR SCDLRRLEMY CAPLKPTKAA | | Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | Molecular Weight | 7.6kD | | Source | Recombinant, murine, E. coli | | Purity | 98% as determined by RP-HPLC; Reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. | | Form | Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O PBS to 0.1-1mg/ml, which can be further diluted into other aqueous solutions. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
