The human insulin receptor is a heterotetrameric membrane glycoprotein consisting of disulfide-linked subunits in a b-a-a-b configuration. The b-subunit (95kD) possesses a single transmembrane domain with tyrosine kinase acivity, whereas the a-subunit (135kD) is completely extracellular.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in Affinity Purification, Conjugation, ELISA, Western Blot, Tyrosine Kinase Assay and Immunohistochemistry. Not suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionsAffinity Purification: With peptide elution.
Tyrosine Kinase Assay: Antibody mediated capture on microtiter plates
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2hrs at RT
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 1:50 for 30 minutes at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 1mM EDTA, pH 8.0, for 10-20 minutes followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
Optimal dilution to be determined by researcher.
Positive ControlHEP-G-2, IM-9 lymphocyte cells, placenta or brain.
Storage and StabilityMay be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
