| CD49a is the integrin alpha1 chain. It is non-covalently associated with the 130kD integrin beta1 chain (CD29 molecule). CD49a amd CD29 form the VLA1 complex (1). It is known as laminin and collagen receptor. It is expressed by activated T lymphocytes, monocytes, melanoma cells, smooth muscle cells and broblasts. It is found on microvascular endothelial cells and neuroblastomas. VLA-1 is a receptor for collagen and laminin. | | | Catalog # | I7661-31B | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation of VLA-1 integrin from detergent cell lysates, Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry. Not recommended for Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunoprecipitation: 2ug/10e6 cell equivalent (Detergent cell lysates). | | Flow Cytometry: 10ug/ml. | | Immunohistochemistry: 20ug/ml. Detects VLA-1 in acetone-fixed frozen tissue sections from gut, heart and lungs. | | Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. | | Hybridoma | Fusion of spleen cells from Balb/c mice with myeloma P3X63ag9.653 cells. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG2a,k | | Clone No | 2Q1015 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Rat | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.1% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Rat pheochromocytoma PC12 cells | | Specificity | Directed against rat integrin a1b1 (VLA-1). Specificity was confirmed by ability to immunoprecipitate alpha1 (Mr~200kD) and beta1 (Mr~120kD) from 125I-surface labeled PC12 cells as well as reciprocal depletion of VLA-1 antigen from cell lysate with antiserum against the cytoplasmic domain of a1 integrin subunit. Does not inhibit VLA-1 mediated adhesion to matrix proteins. | | Species Crossreactivity | Rat | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
