Integrins are a large family of transmembrane proteins composed of an alpha and beta component. Integrins are involved in a diversity of biological functions such as cell adhesion, structure, differentiation, apoptosis and cell proliferation. They are the principal cell surface receptors that recognise cell to matrix interactions but little is known about the expression of beta 1 integrin family on airway smooth muscle (ASM) and their involvement in proliferation. This is a contributing factor in structural changes seen in asthma.

Applications	Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Not suitable for use in Function Blocking or Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Immunoprecipitation: Because I7661-44A is an IgG2a, protein G or rabbit anti-mouse IgG is helpful for capture.
	Immunohistochemistry(IC): Acetone fix. Nuclear background staining limits usefulness in these techniques.
	Otimal dilution to be determined by researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
