| Catalog # | I7662-01A | | Interferons (IFNs) appear early after viral infection locally and systematically to limit spread of viral infection. They also affect cell differentiation, growth, surface antigen expression and immunoregulation. There are three naturally occurring interferons | alpha, beta and gamma. Interferon alpha (IFN-alpha, IFNa) is also known as leukocyte interferon. B-lymphocytes are the predominant cellular producers of INF-alpha. IFN-alpha is derived from lymphoblastic tissue. | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. | | Hybridoma | P3X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1 | | Clone No | 3H2482 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.09% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Recombinant Human Interferon alpha -A. | | Specificity | Recognizes all the common epitopes of human IFN-alpha-A, F, D, I1 and P subtypes. Strongest reaction in ELISA is with subtypes alpha F and alpha D. It has an affinity constant of 2.4x10e-10L/mole. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
