| Monoclonal antibody F1 binds both natural and recombinant mouse gamma Interferon. Its binding activity has been demonstrated in vitro and in vivo. F1 antibodies have been demonstrated to be able to inhibit inflammatory responses to bacterial lipopolysaccharides. These antibodies were furthermore shown to inhibit Shwartzman reactions and to protect NZB mice against spontaneous development of autoimmune disease. | | | Catalog # | I7662-17Q1 | | The neutralizing activity of the antibody has been demonstrated as being poor in anti-viral assays. If a neutralizing antibody is specifically desired, we recommend the use of clone I7662-17Q which recognizes a different epitope on the murine gamma Interferon molecule and in contrast to F1, exhibits strong neutralizing activity. | | Applications | The antibody can be used for the purification or immunochemical investigation of mouse gamma Interferon and structural studies. Furthermore the antibody is suitable for immunoprecipitation and as a tracer antibody in immunoassay procedures. | | | | Storage and Stability: | | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG2a | | Clone No | 9G197 | | Host | Rat | | Source | Mouse | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.1% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified | | Immunogen | Mouse IFNg. | | Specificity | IFNg binds both natural and recombinant mouse gamma Interferon. It does not react with rat or human gamma interferon. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. | | Alternate names | IFN-g |
