IFNg (Interferon-g) is a cytokine that is produced by TH2-like CD4+ T cells. It is engaged in inflammatory response against invading infectious agents. Overreaction to infectious disease and overproduction of INFg could lead to immunopathology, a process very similar to autoimmune response. Therefore, anti-INFg can play a role in limiting the intensity and/or duration of toxic immune response. This is seen as anti-IFNg antibodies can interfere with the generation of cytotoxic lymphocytes. In another case, anti-IFNg has also been used to reverse cancer cachexia.

Applications
	Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution	ELISA: To detect mIFN-gamma by direct ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of at least 0.5ug/ml of this antibody is required. This antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant mIFN-gamma.
Western Blot	To detect mIFN-gamma by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant mIFN-gamma is 1.5-3.0ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Neutralization	To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of mIFN-gamma (50pg/ml), a concentration of 0.04-0.06ug/ml of this antibody is required.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
