| IL-1alpha is a non-secreted proinflammatory cytokine produced in a variety of cells including monocytes, tissue macrophages, keratinocytes and other epithelial cells. Both IL-1alpha and IL-1beta binds to the same receptor and has similar if not identical biological properties. These cytokines have a broad range of activities including, stimulation of thymocyte proliferation, by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, mitogenic FGF-like activity and the ability to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. However, whereas IL-1beta is a secreted cytokine, IL-1alpha is predominantly a cell-associated cytokine. | | | Catalog # | I7663-07 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: (as a detection antibody): 0.1-1ug/ml. Dilutions should be made in buffered solution containing a carrier protein (e.g., 0.1%-1.0% BSA). A preservative, such as 0.1% sodium azide, may also be added. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Hybridoma | BALB/c mouse splenocytes were fused with NSO mouse myeloma cells. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG1,k | | Clone No | 2B2.116 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.5, 0.5% BSA, and 0.05% sodium azide.
