Clone Host Grade Applications Monoclonal Mouse Highly Purified IC

Interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta), one of the major caspase-1 targets, is a multifunctional cytokine that is involved in a host of immune and proinflammatory responses. It is produced primarily by activated monocytes and macrophages. It signals through various adaptor proteins and kinases that lead to activation of numerous downstream targets. Human IL-1beta is synthesized as a 31kD precursor. To gain activity, the precursor must be cleaved by caspase-1 between Asp116 and Ala117 to yield a 17kD mature form. Detection of the 17kD mature form of IL-1beta is a good indicator of caspase-1 activity.

Applications
	Suitable for use Immunocytochemistry, Neutralization and functional studies. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
	Functional Application: 100ng neutralizes 1 unit of IL-1 beta.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
