| Interleukin-1B (IL-1beta) is a potent immuno-modulator which mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses including the activation of B and T cells. Human IL-1beta is a 17kD protein containing 153 amino acid residues. |

| Catalog # | I7663-11C |
| Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Neutralization of Bioactivity. Other applications not tested. |
| Recommended Dilution | Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. Detection limit for rhIL-1b is ~0.15ng/well. |
| Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. Detection limit for rhIL-1b is ~0.5ng/lane under both non-reducing and reducing conditions. |
| Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 5-15ug/ml. Detects human IL-1b in cultured cells or tissue sections. |
| Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. |
| Neutralization of Human IL-1b Bioactivity | The exact concentration of antibody required to neutralize rhIL-1b activity is dependent on the cytokine concentration, cell type, growth conditions and the type of activity studied. To provide a guideline, the neutralization dose for this antibody can be determined under a specific set of conditions. The Neutralization Dose 50 (ND50) for this antibody is defined as that concentration of antibody required to yield one-half maximal inhibition of the cytokine activity on a responsive cell line, when that cytokine is present at a concentration just high enough to elicit a maximum response. The ND50 for this lot of I7663-11C was determined to be ~0.004-0.008ug/ml in the presence of 50pg/ml of recombinant human IL-1b using a D10.G4.1 cell proliferation assay. |
| Storage and Stability | Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
