Interleukin-1b is produced by activated macrophages, IL-1B stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing il-2 release, b-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL1B proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells.

Applications	Suitable for use in Direct ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Inhibition and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions	Direct ELISA: 1:20,000 will yield >1.0 O.D. using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti-mouse Ig.
	Inhibition: 1:2000 will completely inhibit a thymocyte co-stimulation assay using suboptimal doses of concanavalin A.
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability	Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
