Interleukin-3 (IL-3) is a species specific colony stimulating factor which stimulates colony formation of megakaryocytes, neutrophils, and macrophages from bone marrow cultures. Human IL-3 is a 15.0kDa protein containing 133 amino acid residues.

Biological Activity Human IL-3 is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of TF-1 cells is < 0.1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1.0x10e7 units/mg.

Concentration Range for most in vitro applications 0.1-10ng/ml.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer
