Specifications

Human Interleukin-5 is a dimeric, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 132aa and having a molecular weight of 26.5kD. The sequence of the first five N-terminal aa was determined to be Met-Ile-Pro-Thr-Glu. Contains less than 1% dimers and aggregates.

ActivityThe ED50 as determined by dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of TF-1 cells was found to be less than 0.15ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 6x10e6IU/mg.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile deionized water to a concentration 100ug/ml. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
