| IL-27 is a 243aa, novel heterodimeric cytokine belonging to the IL-6/IL-12 family and produced by activated antigen-presenting cells. It is composed of two subunits, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-induced gene 3 (EBI3) and p28. Recent reports suggest that IL-27 is a potent inhibitor of HIV-1 replication in PBMCs, CD4 (+) T cells and macrophages. It has antiangiogenic activity, which plays an important role in its antitumor and antimetastatic activities. It is also responsible for early regulation of Th1 adaptive immune response. It strongly synergizes with IL-12 to trigger IFN-gamma production of naive CD4 (+) T cells and drives rapid clonal expansion of naive but not memory CD4 (+) T cells through the cytokine receptor WSX-1/TCCR. | | | Catalog # | I8443-75K | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA.
