Involucrin is a cytoplasmic protein and a precursor of the epidermal cornified envelope. It is expressed in a range of stratified squamous epithelia, including the cornea that lacks a distinct cornified layer. Involucrin may be a useful marker of terminal differentiation. In certain pathological conditions involucrin has been reported to have an altered expression. This antibody will help identify involucrin in a variety of tissues.

Applications	Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Not recommended for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution	Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:200 for 1 hr at RT. Trypsin digestion may be required.

Storage and Stability	Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
