| J Chain serves to link two monomer units of either IgM or IgA. In the case of IgM, the J chain-joined dimer is a nucleating unit for the IgM pentamer, and in the case of IgA it induces larger polymers. It also help to bind these immunoglobulins to secretory component. |

| Clone Type | Monoclonal |
| Isotype | IgG1 |
| Clone No | 3H2560 |
| Host | Mouse |
| Source | Human |
| Concentration | ~1mg/ml |
| Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.0, 0.09% sodium azide. |
| Purity | Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. |
| Immunogen | Human J Chain. |
| Specificity | Recognizes human J chain as tested by ELISA using purified human Ig fragments as the solid phase target antigen. The antibody does not detect J chain in intact IgM in ELISA assays due to steric hindrance. In Western Blot techniques the antibody detects J chain in IgM only in reducing conditions. |
