| JMJD1a is a 1722aa containing histone demethylase that specifically demethylates 'Lys-4' of histone H3, and demethylates trimethylated and dimethylated, but not monomethylated, H3 'Lys-4' thus having a major role in histone code. Regulatory protein JMJD1a belongs to the JARID1 histone demethylase family with an ARID domain, a JMJC domain, a JMJN domain and three PHD-type zinc fingers. It is thought to stimulate transcription mediated by nuclear receptors. JMJD1a, involved in transcriptional regulation of Hox proteins during cell differentiation, may also participate in transcriptional repression of cytokines such as CXCL12. It interacts with the viral protein-binding domain of RB1 which regulates cell proliferation and with rhombotin-2 which functions distinctly in erythropoiesis and in T-cell leukemogenesis. JMJD1a is a nuclear protein ubiquitously expressed in most of the tissues. | | | Catalog # | J7876-49D | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA.
