Cytokeratin 7 is a basic cytokeratin which is found in most glandular and transitional epithelia but not in the stratified squamous epithelia. Keratin 7 is expressed in the epithelial cells of ovary, lung, and breast but not of colon, prostate, or gastrointestinal tract. Antibody to cytokeratin is useful in distinguishing ovarian carcinomas (keratin 7+) from colon carcinomas (keratin 7-).

Applications and Recommended Dilutions	Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin) (Use Ab at 1-2ug/ml for 30 min at RT) * (Immunohistochemical staining of formalin/paraffin tissues is enhanced by digestion of tissue sections with trypsin (Cat. #AP-9008) at 1mg/ml Tris-HCl (or PBS), pH 7.4 for 10-15 min at RT) The optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by the investigator.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at-20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at-20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
