| Keratin 14 belongs to the type A (acidic) subfamily of low molecular weight keratins and exists in combination with keratin 5. Keratin 14 has been studied as a prognostic marker in breast cancer. | | | Catalog # | K0199-17X | | The antibody distinguishes stratified epithelial cells from simple epithelial cells and has been reported useful in the identification of squamous cell carcinomas. | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry (frozen & formalin/paraffin) and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin): 1-2ug/ml for 30 min. at RT.. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min. followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. | | Western Blot | 1-2ug/ml for 2 hours at RT. | | | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | A431 cells. Skin or squamous cell carcinoma. | | Cellular Localization | Cytoplasmic | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG3 | | Clone No | 0.N.359 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4. | | Also available with BSA and azide-use cat # K0199-17. | | Purity | Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide of 15 amino acid residues from the C-terminus of human keratin 14. | | Specificity | Recognizes keratin 14 at 50kD. Species Crossreactivity: Human and Rat. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
