Otherwise known as KIF5B, a member of the kinesin-like protein family and principal component of kinesin, involved in the plus end-directed transport of eukaryotic cell vesicles and organelles. Kinesins are microtubule associated motor proteins which consist of 2 identical (60-70kD) light chains and 2 identical (110-120kD) heavy chains, the latter of which contain a globular C-terminal tail domain, a central alpha helical rod domain and a globular N-terminal motor domain with microtubule-stimulated ATPase activity.

Applications	Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution	ELISA: 1:32,000
	Western Blot: 0.2-1.0ug/ml, detects a band of ~120kD in human kidney cell lysates.
	Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1-2ug/ml Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9.0 is recommended for this purpose
	Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
