| Otherwise known as KIF5B, a member of the kinesin-like protein family and principal component of kinesin, involved in the plus end-directed transport of eukaryotic cell vesicles and organelles. Kinesins are microtubule associated motor proteins which consist of 2 identical (60-70kD) light chains and 2 identical (110-120kD) heavy chains, the latter of which contain a globular C-terminal tail domain, a central alpha helical rod domain and a globular N-terminal motor domain with microtubule-stimulated ATPase activity. | | | Catalog # | K1782-20K | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. | | Positive Control Tissue | Human kidney | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 1:32,000 | | Western Blot: 0.2-1.0ug/ml, detects a band of ~120kD in human kidney cell lysates. | | Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1-2ug/ml Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9.0 is recommended for this purpose | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~1mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in TBS, pH7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Peptide sequence C-QPVAVRGGGGKQV from the C-terminal region of kinesin heavy chain (NP_004512.). | | Specificity | Specifically recognizes an epitope within the C-terminal (CT) region of human kinesin heavy chain (KHC). Speciessequence homology: canine. | | | Important Note | This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological. |
