Clone Host Grade Applications
Polyclonal Goat Highly Purified IH IC IF
Exocrine organs produce various secretions, each with its characteristic function. Proteins
found in secretions may be divided into two groups: those specific for the particular secretion,
and plasma proteins independent of the type of exocrine cells. Lactoferrin belongs to the first
group. It is an iron containing protein with a molecular weight of 75000 and it is antigenically
different from transferrin. Lactoferrin has a slight anti-microbial action. Originally identified in
milk, its presence has also been demonstrated in other secretions as saliva, semen and tears.
Catalog #L1021-82C
ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunoelectrophoresis, Double Radial Immunodiffusion and FLISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Fluorescein/IgG protein molar ratio (F/P) ~1.6
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
