| Lambda light chains are one of two types of immunoglobulin light chains present in all five immunoglobulin classes. This antibody is useful for detecting lambda light chains found on the surface of normal and neoplastic B cells in lymphoid tissues. No reactivity has been observed with the similar kappa light chain. This antibody may also stain extracellular immunoglobulins. | | | Clonality of a given B cell population can be inferred from the uniformity of light chain class expression. A B cell can express either kappa or lambda light chains, but not both. The ratio of kappa: lambda bearing B cells being 2:1. A vast predominance of kappa or lambda light chain bearing B cells indicates monoclonality and generally implies a neoplastic proliferation. Polyclonality is suggested by a mixture of light chain bearing cell types and indicates a reactive or non- neoplastic proliferation of B cells.1 | | | Catalog # | L1185-03A | | Applications | Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. | | Recommended Dilution | Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200. Frozen and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Epitope Retrieval: Not Required Enzyme Digestion: Trypsin digestion is required. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Positive Control | Tonsil/ lymph node | | Expected Staining Pattern | Membrane | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Monoclonal | | Isotype | IgG2a,k | | Clone No | 6A105 | | Host | Mouse | | Source | Human | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, with 1% BSA with 0.05% sodium azide | | Purity | Purified from mouse ascites | | Immunogen | Human serum | | Specificity | Recognizes human lambda light chains.
