| Lamins are nuclear membrane structural components that are important in maintaining normal cell functions such as cell cycle control, DNA replication and chromatin organization (1,3). Lamin A is cleaved by caspase-6 and serves as a marker for caspase- 6 activation. During apoptosis, the 70 kD lamin A is specifically cleaved to a large (40-45 kD) and a small (28 kD) fragment (3,4). The cleavage of lamins results in nuclear disregulation and cell death (5,6). | | | Catalog # | L1220-01 | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilutions | Western Blot 1:1000 | | Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 | | Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:200 | | Flow Cytometry: 1:50 | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Rabbit | | Source | Human | | Concentration | As reported | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in 10mM HEPES, pH 7.5, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.1mg/ml BSA, 50% glycerol. No preservative added. | | Purity | Purified by Protein A and immunoaffinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Asp230 of human lamin A (KLH). | | Specificity | Recognizes human Lamin A.
