Specifications

Clone Host Grade Applications
Monoclonal Mouse Supernatant IH
Catalog #L1225-47A
Merosin is the muscle specific form of laminin and is composed of three chains alpha 2, beta 1, and gamma 1. Merosin is linked extracellularly to alpha-dystroglycan that is part of the dystrophin-glycoprotein complex of the muscle membrane. Mutations in the gene for the laminin alpha 2 chain of merosin account for a form of muscular dystrophy. This antibody will help determine the presence of merosin in muscle tissue.
ApplicationsSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionImmunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100 for 1 hr at RT
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control
Normal human striated muscle frozen in isopentane chilled in liquid nitrogen. Staining pattern-Continuous labeling of the extracellular matrix outside normal muscle fibre membranes. No labeling may be seen in patients with chromosome 6 linked congenital muscular dystrophy.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
