| LAX1 (Linker for activation of X cells) is a 70kD member of a small group of T cell transmembrane (TM) adaptor proteins. It is upregulated on both T and B cells after activation, and likely downmodulates both BCR and TCR signaling. Human LAX1 is 398aa in length. Although its predicted MW is 44kD, it runs anomalously at 70kD in SDS-PAGE. It is a type III (no signal sequence) TM protein that contains a 37aa N-terminal extracellular region and a 340aa cytoplasmic domain (aa59-398). There are two potential isoform variants. One has an alternate start site at Met77, while a second shows a 13aa substitution for aa1-29. Over aa136-398, human LAX1 is 47% aa identical to mouse LAX1. | | | Catalog # | L1440-01A | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA.
