Human Leptin is an 167aa, ~16kD, adipocyte derived, secreted protein. Mouse Leptin was cloned, expressed in E. Coli and purified. The purity of Leptin is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. The identity of protein has been confirmed by N-Terminal sequence analyses. Endotoxin level in the final preparation is less than 1pg/ug of murine Leptin. Mouse leptin is about 85% homologous with human Leptin. Purified Mouse Leptin has been shown to be biologically active in reducing body weight, food consumption, and plasma glucose levels in ob/ob and NZO mice.

ApplicationsSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended DilutionELISA: 1:10,000-50,000 (10-100ng of protein/well).
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and StabilityLyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O or PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
