Leptin (Anti-Obesity Protein) is the protein product of the ob (obese) gene in mice and seems to be involved in appetite control. The ob gene is expressed in adipose tissue and is thought to regulate the body’s fat stores. Mice with the ob/ob genotype also develop a form of diabetes similar to type II (non-insulin dependent) diabetes. The antibody recognizes a 16kD of rat Leptin protein containing 147 amino acid residues.

Storage and Stability	May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
