| Designated CD295, a type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the cytokine receptor family, which binds with high affinity to the adipocyte-specific hormone leptin, an obesity factor which regulates adipose-tissue mass/body weight through hypothalamic effects. The effects of leptin through binding to the long form of CD295 (LRb), are mediated via the JAK/STAT3 signalling pathway, and are vital for the regulation of the normal physiology of many cells, including food intake, lipid metabolism and energy expenditure. CD295-leptin signalling is also involved in the differential regulation of naive and memory T cell proliferation and promotes the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interferon and interleukin-2. | | | Catalog # | L1671-03E | | Applications | Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. | | Recommended Dilution | ELISA: 1:16,000 | | Western Blot: 1.0-3.0ug/ml, detects a band of ~150kD in human brain cell lysates. | | Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. | | Storage and Stability | May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. | | CAS Number | n/a | | Clone Type | Polyclonal | | Isotype | IgG | | Host | Goat | | Source | Human | | Concentration | ~0.5mg/ml | | Form | Supplied as a liquid in TBS, pH7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide. | | Purity | Purified by affinity chromatography. | | Immunogen | Peptide sequence C-TQDDIEKHQSDAG from the internal region of leptin receptor (NP_002294.2; NP_001003679.1;NP_001003680.1). | | Specificity | Specific for human leptin receptor, designated CD295.
