| LRG1 is a 347aa containing leucine-rich secreted protein, belonging to leucine-rich repeat (LRR) family of proteins and contains eight LRR (leucine rich) repeats, a galactosamine and four glucosamine oligosaccharides attached and has two intrachain disulfide bonds. LRG1, a regulatory protein, is usually found in plasma and is expressed during granulocyte differentiation. Different functions of LRG1 include protein-protein interaction, signal transduction, cell adhesion and development. LRG1 expression is detected in neutrophil fraction of bone marrow and peripheral blood and in the bone marrow mononuclear cell fraction. LRG1 expression is usually upregulated in early DMSO-induced granulocyte differentiation of human promyelocytic leukemia HL-60 cells and also in GCSF-treated human cells derived from a patient with myeloproliferative disorder.
