| Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 4 (LRP-4) is a novel, single-pass type I membrane protein belonging to the LDLR family and is comprised of three EGF-like domains, eight LDL-receptor class A domains, and twenty LDL-receptor class B repeats. The exact function of LRP-4 has yet to be elucidated, however it is thought to function as a cell surface receptor with the ability to both bind and neutralize extracellular ligands, internalizing them for lysosomal degradation.
